For those of you who don’t like long reviews; these guys are fantastic, talented and really made our wedding. Stop your search and book them. For a slightly longer review read on, from the moment of booking the band stayed in contact and always made communication when they stated they would, this included running through running order/arrival time, sorting out the playlist and if we had any special requests for the day. Tom arrived before the rest of the band with all his equipment at the time we had agreed, he then proceeded to transport their equipment to the venue and start setting up. First of all, Tom is an extremely friendly and likeable person. He offered to help out with anything as we were running behind he performed a few errands for us and generally helped us out for which we are very grateful. On to the music, as a band they are a very talented bunch, we left the set list up to them and my goodness did they deliver a fantastic blend of current and past music which had all age groups dancing, singing or at the very least tapping their foot along! I’m no Simon Cowell but they sounded fantastic with an excellent range throughout varying songs and genres. This coupled with the fact they were able to interact and react to the various unplanned situations during their set (first dance etc) made them an excellent choice for the wedding. An added twist, was that our wedding was a surprise wedding, with our guests turning up and expecting an engagement party, the band were extremely discreet and the surprise went down a storm. We spent hours and hours searching for a band for our wedding, save yourself the hassle and book The Travelling Hands. A fantastic night had by all. THANK YOU GUYS!Laura, Bride, Wedding

The Travelling Hands were absolutely fantastic, they had everyone at our wedding up and dancing and they played our first dance – which was a request song – beautifully. We’ve had so many lovely comments about them. Tom and the band were really relaxed and easy to work with which was a blessing in the run up to, and on the day of, our wedding. In summary from start to finish the band were exceptional. Tom as the lead point of contact for the band was superb and we couldn’t have asked for more help in terms of answering questions, recording demos and supporting our every need. On the day they arrived before time, and integrated brilliantly into the vibe we were trying to create for the wedding. In terms of sound, songs played and getting everyone on the dance floor we couldn’t have asked for better. Tom, and the band, thank you for helping to make our woodland wedding an amazing day, and we would quite happily recommend them many times over to anyone who needs a band for their wedding!Matt & Vicky, Wedding

The Travelling Hands formed as a duo in 2011 through a passion for acoustic music with a classic British touch. The duo quickly became very popular and as event sizes grew, so did the need to offer a larger lineup. The Travelling Hands very quickly expanded into a five piece act adding percussion, double bass and saxophone. Within a short space of time, the new quintet became well known for their energetic and fully unplugged roaming performances. The band and guests alike loved this performance style & the unique approach that The Travelling Hands brought to it – offering energetic performances where guests are encouraged to join in. What’s more, the band do so with a distinctly British touch emphasised not only through the band’s repertoire, but also with their very British suits and sponsorship from clothing designer Marc Darcy. The band’s direction was set, and they’ve enjoyed bringing their feel good sets to their fantastic clients around the world ever since.
With up to five instruments playing together, it’s very easy for the band to play a more relaxed set or a more lively one throughout their roaming acoustic sets, so no matter whether you’re hosting a black tie dinner or an informal birthday party, you can be confident that the band will look and sound the part for your event. The Travelling Hands pride themselves on great customer satisfaction to make sure that your special day runs as smoothly as possible no matter what the occasion. From their first contact with you leading up to the date of the booking, they will check the all-important details to start locking down everything they need to know to make the live music a complete success at your event. If you want the full sound of a complete band, but with a more acoustic delivery, or if you want to show your guests a performance with a twist, then The Travelling Hands are the band for you. Whether you’re booking music for a wedding, party, corporate event or otherwise, The Travelling Hands are the perfect choice delivering upbeat feel good music for guests of all ages.
Fees are dependent on date, location, timings, and size and audience numbers too. This will determine what equipment will be needed, which musicians you require and how much time the booking will take up. Providing us with as much information as possible will help us put your quote together.
The 5 piece band is the full and most common band size giving the full sound of The Travelling Hands, and works brilliantly at events big and small. The band can also downsize to a quartet with the removal of double bass and occasionally even to an acoustic trio.
As standard The Travelling Hands offer either 3×30 or 2×45 minute sets at the same price. Extended performances are also available.
Although The Travelling Hands are based in London, they are happy to travel all over the UK and Europe. Costs will vary of course depending on distance.
The band’s setup is incredibly quick and simple. All they need to do is unpack their instruments and tune up. The Travelling Hands arrive 30-45 minutes before they are due to play as standard.
Definitely! As long as the band not getting wet then an outdoor performance is a great choice and they can often be found performing on boats, rooftops, terraces & private gardens across the UK and overseas.
Yes – no problem. The unplugged roaming performances eliminate the problems some venues face with noise complaints so you’re in safe hands.
